Products

We use quality trade products, and which one goes on your walls depends on the room. Kitchens, bathrooms and laundries generally call for a washable finish rated for wet areas. Ceilings generally call for a flat finish, which is less likely to highlight imperfections than a sheen. Trims and doors generally call for an enamel — water-based enamels are less prone to yellowing than traditional solvent-based ones.

We'll talk through the options at the quote — including sheen levels, which make a bigger difference to how a room looks than most people expect.

In most cases, no. We work room by room in occupied homes and keep the mess contained. We'll agree a plan with you up front that keeps a bedroom and a working kitchen available while we're on site.
Two coats as standard on every job. If you're going from a dark colour to a light one, or covering water stains, you may need three — we'll tell you at the quote rather than discovering it halfway through.
We'll give you our view based on the light in the room and what we've seen work, and we can point you to a colour consultant if you want a proper scheme. Test pots on the actual wall are worth it — colours look different in a north-facing Sydney room than they do on a chart under shop lights.
Standard filling, patching and gap-filling is part of the preparation in your quoted scope, not an add-on afterwards. Structural cracking, water damage or significant repair work is outside a painting scope — if we see it, we'll flag it before we quote rather than covering it up.
